To ensure it charges fees for special plates that are consistent with state law, Motor Vehicles should begin charging the correct fees for transferring an Olympic Training Center plate and to convert a personalized plate to a personalized Collegiate plate by March 31, 2016.

The programming changes to correct the transfer fee for the Olympic Training Center and the conversion of an Environmental License Plate to a personalized Collegiate plate were implemented March 30, 2016.

Motor Vehicles did not provide documentation to support the programming changes it made. When we followed up, Motor Vehicles indicated it will provide documentation in its response to our annual follow up of recommendations not fully implemented after one year.

The DMV is in the process of updating its systems to charge the correct fees as recommended and is on track to meet the March 31, 2016 planned completion date.
