Recommendation #15 To: Channel Islands, California State University

To ensure that it receives feedback from employee representatives on conditions associated with their work environments and that it develops appropriate interventions, Channel Islands should ensure that its joint committee records meeting minutes and provides copies of the minutes and other information to the systemwide joint committee, as requested.

1-Year Agency Response

Channel Islands' joint safety committee meeting minutes are recorded and provided electronically to the systemwide joint committee.

California State Auditor's Assessment of 1-Year Status: Fully Implemented

Channel Islands provided evidence demonstrating that its joint committee records meeting minutes and provides copies of the minutes and other information to the systemwide joint committee.


6-Month Agency Response

Minutes are taken jointly by representatives from the participating unions and management, and once approved by all parties, the minutes are distributed to all Facilities Services (FS) staff, and a copy submitted to the systemwide joint safety committees.

California State Auditor's Assessment of 6-Month Status: Pending

Until Channel Islands demonstrates that it has provided copies of the meeting minutes to the systemwide joint committee, we will continue to report this recommendation as not fully implemented.


60-Day Agency Response

CSU Channel Islands' safety committee meeting minutes are recorded. We will provide copies of the meetings minutes for the first two meetings held on April 5, 2018, and May 3, 2018.
